چکیده

Background: Areca nut (Areca catechu Linn.) is the seed of fruit oriental palm that commonly used among Southeast Asian communities. Chrysanthemum (Dendrathema grandiflora) a flowering plant originating from East Asia and dominantly grows in China. Both these plants have strong antioxidant activities. To investigate mechanism their wound healing activities, we prepared areca chrysanthemum polyethylene oral gel performed several in vivo assays using Sprague–Dawley rats. Methods: Sprague–Dawley rats were divided into six groups: Negative control group (rats with base treatment), positive treated triamcinolone acetonide), F1 (treatment 20% nut:80% chrysanthemum), F2 50% nut:50% F3 80% nut:20% normal (without ulcer treatment). Traumatic ulcers on buccal mucosa all experimental animals received topical acetonide twice day for seven days. The clinical histological characteristics analyzed scored. Results: During days, ulcerated area receded linearly over time was completely cicatrized F2, F3, (Dependent t-test, p<0.05). There significant increases body weight groups. no differences between groups histology examination (Kruskal Wallis test, moderate score TNF-α levels seen (ANOVA/Tukey In collagenases assay, high concentration (F3) induced abundance collagen during process. Conclusions: The combination extract can optimize traumatic Sprague-Dawley through increase deposition.
